The New Football Season is on its Way!!

Electronic Arts has unveiled new details about its flagship football title FIFA 09, which it claims has been designed to ‘take advantage of the hardware specifications of each available platform’.
The publisher also claims that the title has over 250 additions and enhancements to the core gameplay seen in its predessesor on PS3 and 360. Both formats benefit from more responsive first-time shooting and passing, faster and more controlled dribbling, and improved trapping, said the publisher.
Players will be able to ‘go inside’ the game engine for the first time, customising the strategy and positioning of their teammates, whilst a referee and linesmen will appear on the pitch.Popular feature innovation Be A Pro has expanded to a career mode called Be A Pro: Seasons where you can choose or create a professional player and then develop his skills at a single outfield position over four years with the ultimate goal of becoming a national legend.
FIFA 09 on PSP and DS will include the Be A Pro feature, for the first time. The Wii version benefits from the choice of two play modes—a Wii-specific take on the authentic ‘11 vs. 11’ simulation or over-the-top ‘8 vs. 8’ arcade action ‘within a stylized environment with Mii versions of superstars like Ronaldinho and Wayne Rooney’. “You’ve never played football like this before,” said Kaz Makita, Line Producer of FIFA 09 All-Play. “Our new ‘8 vs. 8’ Footii Match enables you to play an exaggerated style of football where the personality of your Mii comes to life.

New Slimline PS2!
Sony is to launch a new slimmed-down version of PS2 in Europe in October. According to The Economic Times the new model will have a built-in AC power adapter and will launch simultaneously in India and Europe.
However, the price of the ‘fourth generation’ of PS2 will remain as it did before. SCE India will also be launching the PlayStation Network for PS3 in the region. SCE PlayStation country manager Atindriya Bose said:“The PlayStation Network is ready for India. It is only the integration of the payment gateway that needs to be done.” said Mr Bose. We shall launch it by the end of this fiscal, he added.
Sony Play Station, over the last 13 years, has evolved as every gamers aspiration. It has its own cult following and to grow this base, SCE wants to market PS-2 as gaming console for novices of all age groups and class.“PS-2 is an entry-level console, which helps first timers to enter the gaming zone,” added Bose.
